How it works

Before you book

Anyone can book

Complete beginners, or couples working on a first dance. You don't need a partner. Instructors teach both roles.

Lead or follow

Say which you want to learn, or both. Nobody will assume based on anything else.

Bring a goal

"I want to survive a social" and "fix my anchor" are both good answers. It shapes the whole hour.

Then get on a floor

A private speeds you up; the social is where it sticks. Most people do both, and our weekly nights all include a lesson for less. Find a night.

Lamarr Williford

Lamarr Williford is an All-Star West Coast Swing competitor, performer, choreographer, instructor and artist. He rose to the top tier of the competitive West Coast Swing circuit in four years. That takes most dancers a lifetime. A Chicago native with eight years of partner dancing behind him, he leads advanced seminars and teaches first-timers in the same week.

Amanda Stuart

Amanda Stuart is an award-winning dance instructor with over 20 years' experience teaching ballroom and competing as a gold-level dancer. Don't let the credentials put you off. Amanda makes room for students at any level. She shapes each lesson around the student's goals and how they learn.

Taking students in WCS, American Smooth (waltz, foxtrot), Latin rhythm (salsa, cha cha, rumba, samba), social dances (bachata, two-step, nightclub swing), and competitive performance.

I’ve been teaching for over 20 years and have experience teaching most styles of dance that are done with a partner. I formerly competed Pro-am at the Gold level in Latin, Rhythm, Standard and Smooth and continue to train with good pros in both the social dances and ballroom. I can teach beginners up to advanced dancers depending on the style of dance. I also know how to teach both a social dancer who needs to know lead/follow as well as someone who would like to compete or perform. I have experience with creating choreography as well.
